Seeking God
A Church is not a clubhouse or an entertainment center. A Church is a place where we can learn what God is like, what God accepts and what God desires. A Church is the place where we can find the peace, love and the acceptance of God that we truly need. A Church is where an earnest heart finds God's limitless love and grace through His Word and in His presence. Soul Haven Baptist Church is a haven of rest for every soul who is seeking God!
Music that worships God!
We use only traditional Hymn books and Godly music because music in the Church must be acceptable unto the God of the Bible! The music in Soul Haven Baptist Church is focussed towards worshipping God according to His Word and praising Him from our hearts in ways that truly lift up His Person and His Name!
God LOVES children and He loves the simple praise of simple people! In Soul Haven both adults and children together learn and sing Sunday school songs and choruses, and many are excited at the opportunity to learn these songs in English, Spanish and in Russian! Even the most timid visitors will leave such song services feeling blessed!
Old fashioned preaching!
We still believe that the preacher himself must first be moved with the Word and the Spirit of God before attempting to speak to other men about it! We still expect the Bible to be the entire content of all preaching and teaching. We still believe that Bible TEACHING prepares the mind and reason, while the great goal in PREACHING is to move and persuade the heart of men from the Word of God such that they choose with personal conviction and zeal the purpose and will of God. We ourselves still expect and hope the same things in every service!
Making a difference
Just as the Lord Jesus Christ was known for His love, compassion, works and His teaching, a biblical Baptist church ought also to love and desire the same things. We at Soul Haven Baptist Church desire to be for our Lord His Hands and Feet, His eyes and ears, His heart of Love directed by His knowledge of the Word in this world and within our communities. Jesus the Christ makes ALL the difference.
All who met Jesus were effected. All who SOUGHT Him were changed!
An Upward, Outward and Inward Focus
Emphasizing KJV Bible, Sound Doctrine and Christ-like attitudes for Spiritual Growth and Transformation
An UPWARD focus
Concerned about GOD, and what is important, right and holy in His sight.
"Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our Faith;" (Hebrews 12:2a) ~ "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God." (Colossians 3:1) ~ "And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again." (2 Corinthians 5:15).
An OUTWARD focus
Concerned about OTHERS, and trying to bring God's truth, peace and love to needy hearts.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) ~ “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them...” (Matthew 9:36a) ~ “Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;” (Romans 12:10)
Concerned about ME, that I would be changed into a person that is pleasing unto God.
“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” (Philippians 3:10) ~ "And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." (Ephesians 4:24) ~ "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” (Ephesians 3:17–19)
